About Me
I was raised in the peaceful hills of Pennsylvania, a peace which stayed with me and that carried me through adversity and hardship. My mind would always wander back to a little house in the woods, a sloping meadow, a trail through the woodland, places where I spent time in my youth.. I believe my poetry reflects that peace and the loving inspiration from a wonderful mother. For many years our family owned and managed a mattress factory, which still thrives under the expert direction of my children. I am a grandmother of seven now, and began writing about 10 years ago, after having been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Chronic disease is a dire challenge, but the greatest challenge in life, I believe, lies within ourselves, finding that place inside where we are in comfort and at peace with ourselves. In addition to writing poetry, a write song lyrics in collaboration with Steve Eriksson, a brilliant composer, singer and guitarist from Sweden. My lyrics have also been recorded by the great Swedish singer, Bjarne Lundqvist. Most of my words reflect my fascination with nature, my devotion to family and my Christian faith. I am fascinated with the history of Pennsylvania, and research often leads to treks along creek beds and through the beautiful woods.
